Terms and Conditions

Confidentiality and Privacy

Living Edit is committed to maintaining complete confidentiality and discretion. Any personal information shared with us will be used solely for the purpose of providing our services and will never be shared with third parties without your explicit consent. The collection and use of your information are governed by our Privacy Policy.

Living Edit complies with all applicable privacy and data protection laws. By engaging our services, you agree that your personal details may be securely stored and used only in connection with the work we carry out for you.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change. If you need to reschedule a session, you’re welcome to do so at no additional cost. All rescheduled sessions must be completed within one year of the originally scheduled date.

Tidying Timeline

Living Edit recommends booking an initial consultation before scheduling any tidying sessions. During this consultation, we’ll discuss your goals and estimate how many sessions may be needed. Because every home and client is unique, this estimate may change as we progress — some projects require more time depending on the size of the space, volume of items, and the pace at which decisions are made.

The number of sessions needed depends on several factors, including:

  • The size of your home and the amount of belongings to organize

  • How many categories you wish to work through

  • Your personal decision-making pace when identifying what sparks joy

  • Your preparation before each session

  • Your willingness to continue tidying independently between sessions

Each session typically lasts between three and five hours, with five hours being the maximum unless Additional Hours are purchased. This time frame generally allows for meaningful progress within one category. Most complete organizing projects require at least three hours to see noticeable results.

If a session extends beyond five hours, additional time will be billed at $75 per hour. You’ll always be informed when your scheduled time is ending and asked whether you’d like to continue. Additional Hours can only be added in conjunction with a scheduled session.

Living Edit works at your pace, understanding that tidying can be both physically and emotionally demanding. You are welcome to take breaks whenever needed; however, please note that these breaks count toward the booked session time. If the session coincides with a meal period, we may also take a short break (up to 30 minutes), and that time will not be billed. All break arrangements will be discussed prior to the session.

During Your Session

Tidying is a deeply personal process that works best when you can focus fully on your own space and decisions. For this reason, Living Edit recommends that sessions be conducted one-on-one with your organizer.

To create a calm and productive environment, we ask that family members, children, roommates, and pets not be present during the session whenever possible. This allows you to concentrate, move at your own pace, and make thoughtful choices without distraction.

Access and Safety

Please ensure there is clear and safe access both outside and inside your home on the day of your session. Living Edit is unable to move heavy furniture or large items for health and safety reasons, so having open pathways and accessible spaces helps us make the most of our time together.

If the working area is found to be unsafe or unsuitable for tidying, Living Edit reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the session. In such cases, a refund may not be issued.

Responsibility for Items

The KonMari Method® centers on identifying which of your belongings truly spark joy and choosing to keep only those that support the life you want to live. Throughout this process, it’s common to let go of items that no longer bring happiness or serve a purpose.

All decisions about what to keep or discard are entirely your own. Living Edit’s role is to guide and support you as you make those choices — not to decide for you. For this reason, Living Edit cannot be held responsible for any items that are donated, recycled, sold, or discarded during or after our sessions.

We encourage clients to donate or recycle whenever possible, or to sell items they no longer wish to keep. Living Edit does not provide valuation services, and any disposal or removal of items is the client’s sole responsibility. Please note that we are not able to remove belongings from your home.

Photography

Living Edit may take before-and-after photographs to document and support your organizing journey. These images are used privately to track progress and, in some cases, may be shared confidentially with KonMari® Media Inc. to demonstrate session completion.

With your express permission, Living Edit may also use anonymized before-and-after images to inspire others — such as on our website, social media, or marketing materials. In every instance, your privacy is respected, and no identifying details (such as names, faces, addresses, or personal items) will ever be shown without your written consent.

Recommendations

Living Edit may suggest products or services from third-party providers to support your organizing journey. While every effort is made to recommend high-quality and reputable options, these third-party offerings are entirely independent of Living Edit.

We cannot accept responsibility or liability for any direct or indirect loss, damage, or dissatisfaction that may arise from the use of third-party products or services. Any purchase or engagement with these providers is made at your discretion.

Cleaning

Living Edit provides organizing and tidying services, not cleaning services. While light surface tidying may occur as part of our work, we do not offer or perform cleaning tasks. Clients are responsible for arranging any separate cleaning services if needed before or after a session.

Travel Costs

All Living Edit service rates include travel costs for sessions conducted within the standard service area. For locations outside this area, additional travel expenses or fees may apply. Any extra costs will always be discussed and agreed upon in advance before your session takes place.

Payment Terms

Living Edit accepts payment by debit card or credit card, Venmo, Paypal, or Zelle.

Insurance

Living Edit provides in-home organizing services and takes great care when handling your belongings. However, we cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage, whether direct or indirect, that may occur during a session.

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that adequate and appropriate insurance coverage is in place for all possessions prior to the session.
